iPark 84 Officially Opens Food Hub

Businesses expanding and growing in new workspace

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

October 10, 2018

East Fishkill, NY (October 09, 2018) – Since acquiring the former IBM East Campus in East Fishkill a year ago, iPark 84 has secured eight significant new tenants, five of whom form the core of the Food Hub strategy. The Food Hub is anchored by inaugural businesses Cozzini Brothers Knives, Sloop Brewery and More Good Syrup. Future businesses joining the Food Hub include dairy and bakery producers.

iPark has worked with Think Dutchess to attract these companies, who have created over 100 new jobs in East Fishkill. In addition, iPark has extended the leases of two major tech companies – IBM (100,000 sq ft) and eMagin (44,000 sq ft). Including Global Foundries, iPark has over 2,700 employees on site.

“Our strong regional workforce and access to key transportation routes are important to our food and beverage manufacturers,” says Sarah Lee, CEO of Think Dutchess. “A food hub like this, allows businesses to leverage all of the resources available in Dutchess County- from agriculture and location to people and technology. We look forward to watching more businesses start and expand here.”

Adam Watson, Co-Founder and President of Sloop Brewing said “We’re really excited to see this place open. It’s exciting to bring this IBM plant back to life.” Touting the importance of location for the now 25,000 square-foot facility, Watson says “Just minutes off exit fifteen on I-84 makes us accessible to the entire Hudson Valley now and puts us close to the city.” As production and distribution grow for these brewers and their neighbors sharing similar growth, so does the offering to the community.

Cozzini Brothers Knives at iPark84 Food Hub OpeningI Park 84’s goal is to locate companies in the food and beverage industry to create a vibrant “hub” focused on locally sourced and produced Hudson Valley products while creating jobs and bringing new employees to the area. Several buildings on site are suitable for these occupancies and meet the standards of New York State for food businesses.
