35 years ago, David S. Littman, brought a love of beauty a functionality and fun to the Hudson Valley with Hudson Valley Lighting. The contemporary lighting company now holds an international footprint that expands from Los Angeles, China, Philippines, and a network of sales associates across the world.  Creating a new business model to meet the everchanging world and marketplace, Littman’s model transforms what we think of as “manufacturing” or “product” and focuses instead on technology and social media.

Several years ago, Hudson Valley Lighting was bursting at the seams of its prior facility. After reviewing options including leaving the Hudson Valley and New York State—the leadership of Dutchess County worked with Think Dutchess and its partners to provide an option that kept Hudson Valley Lighting in the Hudson Valley.

The facility, originally built by IBM, was most recently owned by Coca-Cola Bottling Company. When Coca Cola consolidated operations elsewhere, the property sat vacant for two years. Today, every aspect of the building and company culture integrates design, technology, fun and functionality. Recently, Littman and team celebrated its official ribbon cutting in the state-of-the-art Wappingers Falls, NY facility.

“Not only does Hudson Valley Lighting design and build beautiful fixtures for people who put quality first, we’ve carried that philosophy forward by investing in the workspace where that magic happens. The fact that our global headquarters is in the region where I grew up and started my business makes it even better. We are excited for what comes next .”—David Littman, Founder
