More than 1,700 businesses employe approximately 2,200 full-time jobs on 678 farms and at least 4,400 in jobs related to our agricultural infrastructures (not including grocery stores or food distribution chains). The industry powers a robust supply chain of production and support services for food and beverage facilities including:

- — The number of establishments in Dutchess County involved in agricultural crop production increased by 19% between 2014 and 2018, compared to only 3.7% nationwide… nearly five times greater than the national rate.
- — The food and beverage industry is a critical component of the County’s tourism infrastructure which brings in more than $601 million in visitor spending annually.
- — Statewide, in 2011, there were a little more than 300 makers of wine, beer, distilled spirits and hard cider operating in New York. As of September 2017, there are more than 300 breweries alone. Wineries top 400 and distilleries stand at about 100.
